Wayne, PA (Radnor Township)
The West Wayne area and Radnor Township preserves encompass some of the finest mature riparian forest remaining on the Main Line. The combination of large, unbroken forest canopy and healthy stream corridors creates ideal conditions for area-sensitive forest interior species. Red-shouldered Hawks are a reliable presence here — a powerful indicator of forest health and ecological integrity.
Bob's Field Tip
Listen for the Red-shouldered Hawk's distinctive call in late winter and early spring. Barred Owls can be heard at dusk year-round along the stream corridor.
